Default loud whine on cold starts

FOr the past few days my car has started to make a whining sound that almost sounds like wierd supercharger. Noise get louder with engine RPM but only last for a minute or two. im thinking AIR pump? any ideas or comments are appreciated. Thanks a lot. Josh.

To see if it's the pump - pull the "AIR PUMP" fuse under the hood and see if it goes away. It'll throw P0412? but turn off after replacing the fuse and a few cycles.

Just something to try...not sure if a bad pump would increase in noise w/RPM's though? Won't hurt to disable the pump and check.

air pump will not change with rpm's...sounds like you maybe a little low on power steering fluid....will act like you are describing.

ok i pulled the fuse with no change in sound. Checked powersteering fluid, it was a little low but still btween the marks. could it be a pully going out? there seems to be a lot of noise comming from under the hood now.

Mine just started doing that the other day as well. (LT1) It goes away after some heat gets in the motor. But when I turn in on, and there is still heat in the motor, it will still do it. After I go down the road a little bit, it goes away.
