Default fuel gauge weirdness

Okay, can someone point me in the right direction. My gas gauge needle is bouncing around very irratically. If I am at a stop, it doesn't do it very much. However, in stop and go traffic, it irratically moves down towards the E and back up. I am thinking this is the sending unit, but I am not 100% sure it is not just bad gas...any ideas?

Actually, it is a sending unit problem. It appears that the voltage is irregular, thus causing for the erratic behavior. At least from what I can tell.

actually, i think its an f-body thing man. Every one of my brothers' three 3rd gens did it, both of my buddies' 4th gens, my old 4th gen camaro and now my 4th gen TA does it at less than 1/4 tank. But if it really is as extremem as you say (3rd gens get BAD... when even at around 3/4 tank it dips dramatically) then checking out the pump/sendin unit might not be bad idea.
