Default Weird sound coming from rear of car

When Im driving it makes a sound that can only be described as a squeaky spring. However, when I get out of the car and push down on the hatch, the springs make no sound. At first I thought, maybe its gear noise. But the sound doesnt get louder or go away when accelerating or slowing down.....

Any ideas? Or do I chalk this one up as aging f-body squeaking?

WE all get this problem, there is no solution, haha, but seriously if you find something that works let us know, its the hatch alright.

Maybe a bushing....spray them with soapy water and then drive the car see if it goes away, otherwise it is the infamous hatch gremlin.

yea I started to get a sound like that not to long ago, now it just comes and goes, like it will start up if I hit a pot hole or a steep speed bump, it annoys the hell out of me.

I thought your not supposed to spray gremlins with water, or feed them after midnight hahaha

Ok, newbie question....Which bushings and where?

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I found the cure to my gremlin...

it was the damn spare tire. Make sure the bolt holding it is tight.
