Just hit 59k! what maintenance to do for 60k?

Just hit 59k! Ok, when I first got my car it had 17,000mi on the clock. My friend told me when it hits 30k then I should get it serviced because I guess its required. Ever since I had my car I NEVER took it to anyone. I did oil changes by myself etc. Well now that my car is about to hit 60k I was wondering if I would need to change anything like spark plugs etc.
