I think someone stole my ignition and door lock keys. I am looking for options to protect my car. If i get a new ignition lock with VATS key, do I need to reprogram anything, or would just dropping in a new VATS ignition lock and with matching key work? I am also considering a new car alarm system to be installed. Has this happened to anyone?

The best thing to do would probably be go to a dealership and have them cut you new keys. They can look up the key code through your VIN #.

If he gets new keys whoever took the old ones could still get into the car.
