Default Do i have a supercharger?

Lol...Well it sounds like it..My car has been making a "whistling" type sound for the past month or so. Does it whenever its not in N. So its very hard to describe what its doin other than it sounds like whistle type sound..I'm guessing its a belt or maybe some sort of header leak? It's pretty high pitch but not really loud. Anyway just thought i'd chime in and see if anyone has had this type of problem...Oh yea and there are no check engine lights or anything, and car runs fine.

Yeah It probably is your A.I.R system. My gfs car did the same thing until I replaced the hoses on the system and it doesnt make it any more i would definitely check both the A.I.R and the timing chain.

AIR.
High pitched whining sound, sounds kind of like and electric drill???
Just cause you hear it doesnt mean something is wrong with it...most are pretty loud on these cars....no problems though..

I have the same problem, mine sounds more like being in a passenger airline jet before take off though, like with the turbojets idling or something.

As you have said, it is the A.I.R. system, but what part of the system? the checkvalves?

it sounds like forced air, so who cares, take ricers for a ride and say it's factory supercharged

I just got the same problem, the car runs fine, yesterday after a few hard pull on 1st, my car made a whinning sound when ever the engine is being reved, came back this morning and still makes it,
I m thinking that it always existed but not as loud,
can somebody explain what to look for with the A.I.R: hoses, some other parts,

it seems that I m not the only one with this exact problem ( well just an annoying sound right now), I dont really like it and wont qualify it like a supercharger whinning , a more " something is wrong" noise

thanks

If you have an air lid it could be that...mine causes a whistle sometimes.
