This is correct. All years of LS1s have the following stock idle settings:
A4: 550rpm in gear, 650rpm park/neutral
M6: 800rpm
The stock tach is not 100% accurate, on a scanner my A4 will be showing an idle of ~550 in gear, but the tach shows more like 650-750rpm. Then I shift to park and it jumps to 650 on the scanner, but more like 750-850rpm on the tach.....

sometimes i'm running at like ~500 in gear at a light.. i'm thinking a tune up could help? i got some ngk plugs and wires ordered, probably going to be installing them next week. will that help increase my idle and smooth it out?
