Default 02 trans am power to manual regulator swap

Does the trans am come with different door panels for manual windows?I have swapped out my power for manual and my window crank hits my speaker in the door. The only thing i can think of is because it had a monsoon system.

You will have to use door panels from a base Firebird with a non-Monsoon system. They will have cloth inserts instead of the "leather" on your door panels. And I'm not sure that he inserts can be swapped; they may actually be a different shape.

Only base firebirds and formula 1le cars came with manual windows without the monsoon speaker system.

The tweeter on the door panel for the trans am and monsoon doors sits over the position where the crank for the window would go. The base panel also does not have the cup holder

I believe you can modify your door panel for the manual crank. If you ever see a base crank window firebird door panel it just has a circular 6x5 speaker cover in that spot. Might be easier to just find a camaro door panel

Good find on the pic! I see those at boneyards, and often on the earlier cars, they're not cracked. Just dirty.

Im pretty sure I bought them off ebay a couple of years ago . I did the passenger side mod and put in a new motor in the left side and it finally went out. What i think im going to do is weld on a extension to the regulator so it wont hit the speaker on the monsoon door panel.

1993-1998 firebirds did not suffer from cracked door panels. Some time in the 99 production cycle gm switch the plastic blend for the panels, and switched the adhesive they used on the sail panels. 1998 model trans ams also came with blue tinted mirror glass for whatever reason.

The only logic I could find as to why they switched plastics is the dash panel. Gm saw the cheap plastic blend for the dash panel was not breaking during the 3 year warranty periods and decided to cut costs and use the cheap plastic on the doors to cut costs

So 98's did not suffer from cracked door panels or bubbling sail panels.

Also randomly noted, the navy blue metallic code on extremely early 98 model trans ams and camaros was slightly darker because it contained less metallic in the clear. Below you can see a January 98 trans am and an April 98 camaro and the difference in the paint
