Default Literally sounds like crickets in my trunk..

Just as the title says. Its a random sound, and it sounds just like a few crickets have made a home in my car. Anyone else ever have this? And what was it?

The sound happens at random... Driving, idleing, over a bump, etc

I've had squeaking exhaust hangers make that noise. Lubed them up and it stopped.

Just a thought.

I had that, too. It turned out to be the lug wrench for the spare. The socket part was rattling inside of the handle.

Ha ha ha! I've been driving around with that **** for the past year! Alpine fixed mine.

But seriously, I still have the squeaky squeaky coming from that same area. If that's the fix, let me know and I'll pull my spare and lug, too.

UPDATE.......I removed the spare and jack yesterday. I found it to be loose, so I removed the tire and jack. Took the car for a drive yesterday, bout 40 miles, with NO cricket sound....

So for now, problem solved

I keep a small wash cloth wrapped around the lug wrench to keep it from rattling. And stuff a full size towel in behind the spare donut tire. Serves 2 uses. Stops the rattles and is handy when you have to clean up after a flat fix.

Try the rear seat belt. I found that if it is hitting the panel a certain way it makes a similar noise.
