Ok as the title says my guage when i put like 20 bucks in it will go up to like half tank and then it will just drop below E. but only when i put gas in it usually does it even move. what could be the problem??? my thought is that the fuel sending unit may be bad bad but i wanted to ask you guys to see if any of you have had this problem. thanks in advance,

Yes, more than likely a fuel level sensor. You have to remove the fuel pump to change the sensor.
