Default Start grinding????

I just got my car back from the body shop and Now my car is having a hell of a time tryign to start. When i go to turn the car over it makes a grinding noise and and keeps grinding. It does this a few times and then it finally catches and the car turns over. Do you guys think it is my starter missing teeth or the flexplate that has teeth missing?I

It is most likely the starter, It sounds like it is going bad. If the car does this all the time it is the starter. If the car does this every once and a while then it is the flexplate.

I would jack the car up and drop the inspection cover over the convertor/flexplate. I would use a pry bar or something similar and move the flexplate and inspect to see if the teeth are in tact. If so, it is the starter.

Its sounds like the starter to me, but I would check the flexplate to make sure.
