What oil filter do you use and why
Was doing some reading online on a few oil filter studies done and was woundering what everybody else is using
I use the K&N seems to filter good and good construction plus the bonus of the welded 1 inch nut on the bottom makes for easy install and removal

I use ACdelco or wix filter, whichever my local parts store has in stock at the time. As for fram filters, I would stay away from them, they use a cheap paper element that has been known to come appart.

Fram is by far the worst.. they use Cardboard for the filter element..
do a search on "oil filters" on the "internal mod" section.. there was a 8-9 page discussion on it.. and there was some research and data provided to back up the claim that Fram was the worst... and K&N, Mobil One, Wixx, and Purolator were all equally as good and were amoung the best ones..

I have tried wal-mart, mobil 1 and the delco.
Didn't feel safe with wal-mart for obvious reasons and switched to mobile 1. AFter doing some reading I chose to do what GM would do and use delco .
I did notice higher pressure at idle with the delco.

I agree with the statement about Fram, I believe a study was done at one of the northern universities and they found that fram oil filters are made with a paper element and cardboard endcaps...
I have been thinking of going with a reusable filter system like "system one" but not sure if they make one that will work
