Help - Car won't start!

I was going to go to a meeting this morning, and when I went to start it up, only the accessories came on. I didn't hear the engine at all! when the key was in the ignition, the only light on was the security light. Help!

I'm having that same problem with my car. My Key Pass II system is failing. That's the only reason the security light comes on. Well as far as I know of.

well if this isn't weird - I searched the forums and some people said it may be the key that is dirty. It didn't look dirty, but I went ahead and cleaned it anyway. Sure enough, it started right up!

Now here is the new problem: The security light still stays on while driving! Any ideas?

Oh I cleaned my key too, I cleaned inside the ignition too. My light is still on. It goes off and comes on, and goes off and comes on. Was working good for a while and now it's back to doing the same thing. I was told to clean it with parts cleaner and see if that works. If not it's off to the dealer to get it serviced. Hopefully the parts cleaner works.

you will never guess what happened - i disconnected the battery for 15 minutes, reconnected and restarted. It came on for about 20-30 seconds and then shut off! Woohoo!!!! I shut down and started up again and while it was the last light to turn off, it still turned off. I think I am good now!

Thanks so much guys.
