Little older engine TBI: Starting issue
I've become an expert on taking out the starter now. I've done it like 3 x today.
While placing a heat shield on the starter I decided to also replace the solenoid (checked works fine). I also spun a bolt on the solenoid for the starter wire. Joy upon joy!
Since I couldn't get it off I cut the wire. Now trying to get it all back together (lovely) it won't fire up.
Now my question is this wire and what ever plastic is on it possibly the reason I can't turn my car over ??
I made a new wire to extend and sauttered (sp?) it together. Just a generic metal loom.
battery ok
fan goes on
starter tested and cranks...took it to checker along with the battery
When I go to crank the car it doesn't make any noise though

I didn't have a dremel so I ghetto-fied my self a little and used bolt cutters and got that piece off. Now my question...if the solenoid had 2 post and the new one has 3 will that make a difference?
