I did mine for the second time last week and it's much easier the second time (anti-seize used on the plugs). Oh, if you have a set of ramps, the #8 plug is the easiest to do from underneath. Also, you should remove the negative cable on the battery - someone posted a while ago that a wrench hit the starter and created quite an arc show.

Remove the coil packs. Takes a max of 5 mins a side and saves you a huge amount of trouble and time later on.

Definitely take the coil packs off for more access. If it's your first time taking them off, it'll be a bitch. The back bolts are a pain to get out. Take your time. I believe it took me about an hour to do it my first time.

Get some LT's and when you put the coil's back on, only put the first 3 bolts back in.

I managed to do them all from the top, looked from underneath and it didn't look like it was gonna be possible. Getting it from up top was pretty easy with the coil pack rail off.

The InstallUniversity writeup talks about replacing the plug wires as well because "Your wires are not all that good either, that is why we are replacing them with a very good set." How do you pick a good set? I'm in Canada, I don't want to have to pay shipping/duty/tax/etc. just for plug wires, I'd like to find something locally.

Also, do the NGK iridium plugs make any difference? (The search was broken yesterday and today, some database error thing ) Lastly, would a swivel socket help, or one of those snazzy double-swivel sockets:

if you remove the coil packs, do not put the very back bolts in when you reinstall. this way it will be easier the next time you have to remove them.

Plan for the whole day and remain calm. It will probably only take 3-4 hours the first time. Second time is a piece of cake. Be brave, stay calm. Have an extra vehicle available to run for new tools. It's fun.
