Default sound of exhaust leak

Well I just did a H/C swap I don't see any fluid leaking and my oil pressure is good and let it run for about 15min @ 2.5k rpms and it's running fine. But my question is the second time I started it up I had a second set of eyes check it out and my buddy noticed a exhaust leak in 3 different spots on the same head. Could that make a noise of bad valvetrain? I"m 100% sure it's dot to dot, made sure it came together dot 2 dot and torque all the valvetrain to its torque specs. I can't imagine something going wrong? Any ideas or is it something normal when completing a h/c swap?

not 100% sure what your asking? are you asking what to do about the leak? are you asking if that noise is your valvetrain and not a leak?

Sorry for not make it clear. My question is could a exhaust leak make a bad valvetrain noise? Or is it normal to make that noise after a h/c swap?

If you are hearing a ticking type noise I would do the water hose test to hear exactly were it is coming from then feel if to see if there is any blow out. I think it may be just a exhaust leak.

I hope i made it clear. I do have video but I don't have the connection to the cpu from the camera. What was really weird before I shut it off, I didn't see any SES light.

any valvetrain modification is just going to made it louder for the most part... I put new springs on when I did my cam swap and the valve train noise is just louder, you learn to deal with it even if you're paranoid... just part of the performance game

Well I had a TR224 w/ 918 springs on it and it was lil noisy, but would it be worse if I had a exhaust leak?

bigger cam? different springs?

the more you open it up the more it'll make...

I get paranoid and keep thinking maybe I have a leak, but it's just the fact that my exhaust is just catching the rest of the valvetrain noise and nothing else is muffling it out ... at first when I did my LT swap I noticed it, and rechecked everything a few times over, and got confirmation from others as well just to make sure...

now after just doing my cam swap it's even more pronounced...
unless you're losing power or feeling sluggish in places, that noise is pretty much normal

Cool. It's probably me just getting paranoid. It's my first time doing a cam swap. Everything is changed in this setup from air lid to the cam. I'm going to have to wait for the weekend to start it up again.
