ABS inop, traction control off and brake light on? What should I check first?

ABS inop, traction control off and brake light on? What should I check first? These light will come on some times after driving for a few minutes. They will stay on until I turn the car off for a few minutes. Then when I restart the car they will be off. They don't come on every time I drive the car but they do come on a lot of times. I can't really tell if it is bumpy roads that cause them to come on or what. I have driven the car over 40 or 50 miles and the lights not come on and then some times I will pull out of the drive way and they pop on. What do you guys think is causing this.
