I have over 110K on my 98 Formula. I use regular (Not synthetic) 10w40 Castrol. When I bouht it back in 2000 thats hat they guy used, so that what I stayed with, and i have had no problems whatsoever. Up until 5 years ago, I was using fram filter, but started to read about the fram filters and as a precautionary measure just switched to K&N. A little more pricey (like a few bucks) but love the bolt as an added feature for removing the filter. So basically what I am saying is to stick with whats working, If it aint broke........

I don't use any of those oils.
Just use plain old 10w-30 Pennzoil in the yellow bottle and change at 3k miles and all will be well.
Purolator filters are equally as sufficient.
Buying those expensive oils is just a waste for daily drivers and non-extreme racers....Mostly so you can sound like you know what you're doing.

I go back and forth with redline and amsoil with a kn filter. Supposedly redline uses more basestock 5's than other synthetics and neither contain aggressive detergents like rp. Goes in clear comes out dirty; probally doesn't matter to much but peace of mind is worth 10 a quart I guess...Although I do go 4/5k now in between changes after seeing many private reports regarding sythetic break down.

I've used M1 for 25 years and never had a oil related problem. Last change, switched from M1 10-30 to GC 0-30. Reason: Base IV versus Base III stock. Very impressed. Filters: AC Delco, Supergard or Bosch for the most part. Cheap and good is my criteria. Switching to M1 truck filter next time (hey, they were on sale).
