WeLL F@#k me
Today at 6:10 pm i was rear ended.
I have no idea what the insurance is going to do to me I bet i will need lube though.
so it was dark but the bumper is gone, the passenger side rear fender is jacked up, the place you put the T-tops is bent in, the muffler is bent all under the car.
does any budy think the frame might be bent i know its a unibody so im worried it might be totaled
help does anyone know how to deal with geico so i can be tacken care of?

I know to none car people this is going sound insane but I am very emotionally attached to my car. As soon as the women hit me my heart just dropped I’m not sure how to describe it but all the time and effort and money put in to the inanimate object has very made it feel like it was part of me. I’m not sure if it was all the physical labor of installing and fixing, or the money invested, or even the time I poured into reading and learning how to tune, fix, detail, and love my car. I’m not sure if love is a stupid way to describe what I felt and still feel for the thing. But it’s almost like someone came up and shot my dog.
The thing is the insurance people I don’t think will understand. It’s their job to make me whole especially seeing how it was no fault of my own. They’re going to see it as one more thing they have to do in there day and lets hurry up and get this over with. Even if they were to give me twice what it would cost to buy a new one in the same color (good luck finding one) it will never be the same!!!
I really hate to think this way and I always try to put a positive spin on things but my body hurts and my mind hurts from the accident so it’s hard to keep the smile up when you just wish it was all just a bad dream.

If you were not at fault for this rear ending, then your insurance company most likely will not increase your premiums. Police were called out and a report was filed, correct?
If the other driver is at fault, then you'll be dealing with their insurance company to get proper payment for the physical damage to your car. Or, you can file with your insurance company and get payment from your insurance company and then they will go after the other driver's insurance company for reimbursement.
Even if your car is declared to be "totaled", you can still "retain salvage" as most insurance companies call it and buy back the car for whatever residual value they deem the car to have.
Best of luck to getting this straightened out.

I hear you on the emotional attachment. I am the same way with my car. I will not get rid of it no matter what. I would probably have blown a gasket if someone hit me I know that sounds stupid and all but I would have been in the car cussing and screaming but then got out and been collected and made the other person feel like a piece of dirt under my tires for hitting me.

I think it will save. Depending on miles and what the car is worth. You should check your seats to see if they are bent or twisted. That happens to alot of cars that get rear ended. Keep your gaurd up when dealing with any insurance company, your or otherwise as they dont always have your best interest in mind. It is their goal to make a profit and keep the shareholders happy by spending the least amount possible. If you have any questions on how insurance compainies work shoot me a pm and I will be glad to help you, I deal with them extensively every day. Good luck.
