Default Took out cluster and now car won't start

I don't understand, what did I screw up? I was taking out my instrument cluster to clean it, now the car will not start. Is this some sort of security feature?

Someone help? I tried jump starting the battery with another car thinking the batt is dead, but it still won't start. I can hear the starter clicking. Blown fuse?

did you put it back in?

haha just kidding... if you get accessories on the first turn and no cranking and the starter clicks then you probably have a bad starter

I believe part of the wiring for starting the vehicle runs through the cluster, or some safety device is in the cluster to prevent starting if the cluster is not installed. You may have left something unplugged or damaged a circuit board in the cluster. Always have to be careful when working with the cluster to prevent static electricity from causing damage. Some will even wear a ground strap when servicing the cluster. Some boards are not designed to handle much voltage and can be damaged easily.

Good to hear it was just the battery.

Yea, he did say he was taking it out to clean it. Didn’t specify exactly what he was doing.
