Default Car Lift Rental?

Is there a place where you can rent a car lift bay for a day?

This question pertains to those who wish to save cash and have the means to service their own car but don't own a car lift. Or are we at full mercy of the automotive repair industry with questionable ethics in this manner?

Check with your local community colleges. In some parts of the country, they will rent bays by the hour to local residents.

Cool! Thanks.

I look forward to getting to know the transmission and engine bay inside out with the help of the factory manual.

+1 on the auto hobby shop. i use the one here on base at 29 Palms. cheap as hell and tons of tools and lifts. i think it costs like $5 something for a few hours, and that's including using the lifts and all the tools you need.

You just made my day!

Are all auto hobby shops that cheap and supply tools, or are they just the military bases?

yeah, if you are near a major military base, chances are pretty good that they have some kind of Auto Shop. Look around in your regional section and ask. Lot of people are pretty cool and would be willing to sponser you to go to thiers.
