Driver's side view mirror shaking... Ok..I know its a little thing..but my driver's side view mirror shakes quite a bit when driving...the passenger one rock solid. Any ideas on how to fix this? I don't want to try to replace the whole thing My present idea is to put some rubber weather stripping inside the mirror housing to minimize the bouncing/shaking.. |
I have the same problem jajaja it gets worst when pass 60mph |
My passenger one does that. The one mount inside is broken. peek between the mirror glass and the mirror housing at the bottom and see if anything looks loose or broken. |
You can very easily take the mirror glass out. It is just on two pegs and a cross like metal bar. Very easy to reinstall. |
Can you explain how to do that in a little more detail? |
mine does it too. passenger mirror unfortunately is falling off though. metal mount broke inside. good luck with the fix. i live with it. subwoofer will shake em anyway |

I have the same issue.... |
Can you take just the glass/mirror out of the housing without removing the entire mirror assembly off ther car? |

You won't break it the glass is tougher than it looks. DO NOT try to pull the plasic studs out of the mirror backing. they are hard to reinstall without messing them up! |
^^ Oh, good info! I may be able to at least glue the broken mount on my passenger mirror to keep it from shaking so much until I replace it. Thanks :) |
Well I thought of some more info. I can guarantee you the looseness isn't from the ball joint of the plastic stud meeting the mirror backing. It is probably from the motor or the mount like you guys were talking about. I know Classic Industries sells replacement motors. The dealer will make you buy the whole housing unpainted. If it is the frame maybe you could repair this. I remember tabs on the plastic housing. Phillips heads holding it together. Plastic bracket holding the motor. |
Well in my case I know the plastic is broken, I can see the broken mount when I peek in there. |
Thanks for the info on removing the glass. I'm looking to remove the motors from mine and delete the associated wiring. |
