Need 200+ Amp Alternator

The factory alternator is not cutting it anymore. My system demands a lot more now with the stereo, amp, nitrous accessories, etc. I am looking for a durable 200+ amp alternator at a reasonable price. Where is a good place to look?

Ohio Generator one call does it all.

I got my 200 amp alternator from Alterstart on Ebay. So far, it has been great. It uses a different case than the stocker, so beware of that. Still fits with no modifications (although the alternator will no longer be mounted using the rear bolt - just the front two).

I just ordered a 220 amp from Power Bastards. Has anyone ever ordered from this place before? I think it should ok, but I hope I didn't pay too much.

Do not go with excessive amperage. Guy ripped me off and the alternators are crap.

Guy ripped you off from where?

The 220 amp I just got from Power Bastards doesn't look like most other 220 amp alternators. This one still has the stock looking air vent coming out the back and it looks like it will still use the same rear mounting bracket, though most after-markets do not. It is a Delphi, model # A0658L.

Does it fit well?

Post the numbers it puts out.

Haven't had time to get it done yet.

I just got done installing it. Though the fit of an aftermarket part is almost never like the stock piece, this alternator looked almost identical sitting next to the original (except there was no threads for the rear bolt of course). The fit took a little effort, but it was really pretty good in the end. I didn't have to do anything special to get it to fit. The plastic horn opening on the back vent was slightly bigger than the original which made it hit the power steering lines, but I managed to get it in without having to really bend them. It seems to work good too so for $225, I guess it was a pretty good buy. I will post if anything starts to go bad with it, but for now I am pleased.

Oh yeah, and I have underdrive pulleys too so I put an ASP overdrive pulley on this alternator before I installed it. It already had an underdrive pulley of sorts on it that is smaller than the stocker, but I already had the ASP one so I wanted to take advantage of it.

What voltage does it put out at idle with the AC on/off?
