Spark Plugs and LT's

I will be looking at Longtubes in the near future. I also have around 45k on the motor and wondering is it worth replacing the spark plugs at that time or wait? I know they can be a pita. Any input would be appreciated.

Absolutely. It's the perfect time to put in new plugs. With the manifolds off it's easy as hell. Just be careful when you're putting the headers up in there. You don't want to damage any of the plugs.

Gotcha. Appreciate the advice. I never done plugs on a LSx, but the cobra takes me 15 minutes tops.

Yeah, get used to it taking a little longer than that. But honestly it's not the job from hell that some make it out to be. I can get to plugs 1-7 from right in the engine bay, then just get the car up in the air and do 8. Some guys do it differently, but that's how I do it.

Devils advocate here. I let my buddy talk me into changing the plugs and all I got was a missfire bc a spark plug cracked. The stockers I had in there looked brand new. I'd pull out one and see what it looks like before replacing them. Depending on the header changing them is not too bad. I have QTP's and I just leaned across the engine bay with a socket and extension and did all 8 for the first time ever in 30 minutes.
