Default General Maintenance questions

I`m asking way ahead of time here but i just wanna be prepared. After i take my car out of storage this winter i was thinking about doing a good tune up on it. I`m just unsure what all i should do because i`m still only at 63,000 miles. I don`t know when the last time the radiator was flushed or last time rearend or tranny fluid was changed or when fuel filter was last changed or plugs or any basic maint. was done to it because the previous owner never kept any records that i know of. The car runs great no piston slap or anything still gets about 26 mpgs plenty of power only thing ive noticed is it sounds like some of the rear suspension needs to be greased because it squeaks pretty bad when i turn corners but i don`t know where to begin greasing or what type of grease to use. My car is a 98 TA A4 basically stock except for exaust and K&N air filter. So let me know what you guys and gals think i should do and what brand parts would be best to use. Take me to school on this stuff! lol.

Basic tuneup:
* Clean airfilter
* New plugs (NGK TR-55 unless you're SC or spraying)
* Oil-change

Extended tuneup (in addition to the basic stuff):
* Transmission oil replace
* Replace fuel filter
* Plug wires
* Health-check on battery+alternator
* Inspect brake discs+pads, replace if necessary
* Power steering flush

If you haven't done it, I'd also recommend running a bottle of Seafoam in your gas-tank to clean out the injectors and fuel-system (do this before the fuel-filter change, as you need to change the fuel-filter after seafoaming)

Why the need to change the fuel filter after seafoaming? I`m asking because i just seafoamed it about 2 weeks ago now.

Fuel treatments usually contain some form of alcohol. And since water is soluble in alcohol the treatment picks up little water globules that are probably in the tank and moves them forward, where they usually stop in the filter.

Change all that stuff and then you'll be sure they're right. I do that on all the used cars I buy. It isn't all that expensive, you get the joy of working on your car, and you get the peace that comes with knowing everything is good to go.
