Default 0 oil pressure at idle

Earlier this morning I was parking my 96 trans am, when I noticed the "check gauges" light was on. My oil pressure was at/about 0. I drove around several times later this day, and I couldn't recreate what happened. This has happened once before, but I took it in, and the mechanic couldn't recreate it either. He measured the pressure with a tool and said it was normal, but replaced a gauge (don't remember what it was called) anyway. But here we are again. Thoughts?

change the oil pump? that scary cause if it at one time its at 0 and its not a faulty gauge and you keep driving or the car remains on, your engine clould mess up and brake a lot of things
