WS6 Ram Air Q's

Is there a way it make it direct ram air and skip the loops and turns I can't find any info on this

I know there is a way cause they acually have the filter mounted, with a gasket around the filter to seal it against the hood. I don't think you can do it with the factory hood though. I will see if I can find out where I seen that at though.

Just pop the hood and you will see rivets ( wich hold the baffles in place). Get a drill with a small drill bit and drill out the rivets. After that put your and in there and pull out the baffles. The front baffles ( closest to the black grill )are a little harder to take out because they have glue on them. So just rock it back and forth untill it comes out.

Search for debaffeling hood or sealing hood. Theres a whole bunch of stuff on it with a couple different systems.

I found the Jaam Kit but I don't understand what it does can someone give me installed pics, not desinger pics but actually installed pics

And whats the difference between the 90$ one and the 195$ one?

You will be wasting your time bro. You will get much more air from a FTRA (or similar) setup. These cars are bottom breathers and naturally pick up their air from underneath from the air deflector. I have a WS6 too and I tried using the nostrils to route air in. Trust me, the best way is underneath. Seal the front of your airbox and open up the bottom. Ask around...I promise you you will hear the same thing.

Even Fast Toys says their FTRA is more effective than their JAAM kit on the website.

We sell the JAAM kit. Basically it involvs removing the baffles from inside your hood scoop and then installing the seals included in the kit. The lower plate (the part that can be bought seperately), makes the lower nostrils in your hood functional as well. Once you close the hood, the seals meet with your air box and you have a true, sealed ram air hood.

Definitely get the complete kit for 195.00. The lower plate alone will not produce a ram air effect but some people like to buy it to make their engine bay look pretty :)

So my question is what can I see more of a gain with in the long run the Jaam Kit or yours?

Better throttle response, quicker ET's, more HP and better fuel economy.

We have only specifically tested the FTRA and it typically yields 2 tenths and 1-1.5 MPH in the quarter mile. People usually see 5-7 % increase in fuel economy and much better throttle response at highway speeds.

The JAAM kit will yield similiar results but probably a little less since it is pulling air from the hood which is not as efficient as a bottom breathing design on an fbody. People that have purchased the kit are still very happy with it :)

If you install the FTRA kit, do you lose the function of the nostrils/Ram Air hood set-up on the factory WS6 hood?

Yes and No. They will not be blocked in any away but they will no longer supply cold air to the air box. Instead, they will just help cool the engine bay.

let it breath from below...FTRA

jrpimp00 Oct 23, 2008 04:48 PM

+1 FTRA, ive had mine for well over 2 years on my 98 T/A and had one on my 98 RS. Just make sure you seal u the box good. This will give you better flow than the nostrils. And you dont have to tear apart your hood
