LSX Intake Dyno numbers from Corvette Fever Mag
Went down to the book store to look at the article on the dyno numbers and according to the mag
LS1(Stock)
+20hp
+15lbsft
LS6(Didn't mention wether stock or not, I would assume so)
+13hp
+7lbsft
This is peak, I am curious about avg across the range.
There was a dyno graph in the mag, indpendent of the numbers quoted above. I am assuming it is of a stroker or big bore of some sort because the engine peaked at 461lbsft of torque. I have yet to see that kind of peak torque out of 346! . The graph was really impressive though, below 4000-4500 rpm the graphs look almost identical and the LSX pulled away nicely after that. Couldn't really make out the difference though, wasn't going to break out the ruler in the book store
The article mentioned also having the option of 75mm or 90mm throttle body opening.
Just a heads up.

Re: LSX Intake Dyno numbers from Corvette Fever Mag
let's do some math
20 hp for ls6 plus the 13hp gain over the ls6 from the lsx = 33hp gain for $800 = $24/1hp
then the ls6 is not wanted and for sale, they will drop in price, let's assume $250 for an ls6, that would be $250 for 20hp = $12.50/1hp
To me, for 13hp peak, that doesn't sound like a lot, especially on a stroker motor...and the price is about 2x's as much for 1 hp...doesn't sound like a good deal to me.
The price of that intake would need to come down to $400 before I buy it, or the increase of hp would need to be 46hp over the ls6, which it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
I dunno, just my $.02, doesn't sound like a great deal unless you have oodles of $ and a stroker motor and are looking for every ounce of hp your car can offer. So whomeever is buying one, let me know, and ls6 intake has a home with me.

I would really LOVE to see it on a G5X2 full bolt on car thats already putting 450 to the wheels. That and the 90mm TB.

People that have strokers have the money for a superior intake.
I didn't mean an ls6 engine, i mean people with the ls6 intake.

Ignore my 1st sentence because I thought it was comparning a LS1 and LS6 intake and not a LS1 and LS6 engine. My first sentence still holds true though.

Re: LSX Intake Dyno numbers from Corvette Fever Mag
I'm most interested to see what it'll do on the big inch motors. I think we've all known for a while that improving upon the LS6 intake on a mild 346 would be difficult - especially for the price.

Dunno about the math there. You have to take into consideration that the LS6 engine is a different animal, in the sense different cam, heads, intake etc. In all honesty I expected more from the LS6 engine.

Re: LSX Intake Dyno numbers from Corvette Fever Mag
Results soon to come...my car is supposed to be a "test car" at LGM when they get theirs in.
Also, from what I understand, there will be more than peak gain with this LSX intake. It's not hard to prevent the intake manifold from not restricting 300+ cfm heads...you just take a Holly and extrude hone it and boom...you have a non-restrictive intake that can flow whatever your heads can.
But as we all know, this hurts low-speed velocity, and as a result, low end tq. I got the impression that the LSX intake will not hurt low-speed velocity, but in fact increase it. From the runner design it's obvious that is what they were shooting for. So, the advantage of this manifold [if it works] should be that it increased tq at all RPMs. Now we'll have to see if that holds true.
