Budget bang= Pacesetter

My choice Kook's = quality, ease of install and fitment is very good.

I have had the SLP'S and Hooker's as well. SLP's hung to low and I ground them down as careful as I was and the coating was wearing off of them.

Hooker's were nice but either due to a weak weld or lean condition in a cylinder, I blew the AIR tube with block-off plate straight out of the pipe and the coating was wearing off of them as well.

LPP makes a really nice set of stainless steel LT's for a very great price. My friend and I and a couple buddies just installed a set on a '00 Z28 and it was a breeze and the fitment was nop notch!! I would recommend them to anyone anyday and will be looking to change out my old LT's and go with a set of these someday!!

BBK long tubes are the best fitting headers I have come across. The header primaries are 1.75". They have ball flanges for easy adjustment and the y pipe is a 2 piece design that includes a torca coupler for good seal and ease of adjustment. The y pipe is 2.5" into 3", which makes much more sense that most 3" y pipes that merge into a single 3" pipe. This design also allows for better ground clearance. You can buy the headers/y pipe combo COATED for $500 shipped.

I would have to say pacesetters are the best bang for the buck, but the LPP headers are very nice and stainless is always nice!

With this pole im lookin at price, quality, performance... could care less about the economy.

Thats where I bought mine. There is another member here who posted some very good info with pics. Also can be found on BBK's website.

hookers headers here since 05.

Vicinity Nov 10, 2008 08:42 PM

You forgot TSP 1 7/8's.

RedRallyeZ Nov 10, 2008 08:48 PM

if economy is no factor, i say ARH

BlackBADaSS02 Nov 10, 2008 08:54 PM

I've had both Jet Hot and QTP.
The Jet Hot coating does not prevent rust. Mine had surface rust within 6 months, and I don't remember taking the car out in any rainy conditions. They are a decent header though, and have a 3yr warranty on the coating for surface rust.

The QTP's are a decent price for stainless headers. They look good too, as they are polished. There are fitment issues though with the QTP's. Mine don't touch the K member like others have had. Mine are almost or are touching the body, near wear the tow hook point is underneath.

If I had to do it again, knowing what I do now, I'd spend the extra on a set of Kooks or ARH.

E-Bay

vsocks1 Nov 10, 2008 09:56 PM

ARH are the best overall value - performance, fit, and finish!

Detoxx03 Nov 10, 2008 10:49 PM

Gotta go with the QTP's. Had them for 2 years without any hiccups.

jwill_20 Nov 11, 2008 12:48 AM

LPPs all the way...fit like a glove...and gotta love stainless!

Tom@ARH Nov 11, 2008 10:13 AM

I'm going to vote hmmmmmmm ARH lol we won the last pole why not go with those results?

02T/A-WS6 Nov 11, 2008 10:28 AM

LPP are the best all around. They are stainless, fit awesome(no notching), have the high velocity merge collector and merge spike, Y pipe has a mount on the driver side to prevent banging on the floor boards!!! Dont forget they are 1 3/4 primaries and stepped to 1 7/8.

You will not find a better stainless LT header and ORY pipe combo with the features they have!!! All for 600 shipped to your door

ARH Money isn't an issue when it comes to the Trans Am. She gets whatever she wants. :D
