Default #5 Has Water....F*CKING PISSED

Ok guys I have to rant a little bit. I have finally got a chance to get my car tuned, i go to check everything tonight and try to start it....will not budge....

I think battery is low it has been sitting for about 1.5 months since the last time I drove it.

Anyhow, I pull the plugs on the driver side, get to number 5 and it pours coolant.

I am kindly at odds of what to do with the car. This engine is brand new, and I am quite ready to say to hell with the project.

I turned the engine over and get the coolant out of it and put some marvel mystery oil in it, topped the radiator off, and going to see how full the cylinder is in the morning.

Motherf*cker I am pissed.....

You wont be able to sleep much tonight thats for sure. Don't give up on the project, you will regret it. This is an expensive hobby and your wallet will pay for it. Believe me my wallet is hurting and im just payin bills and ordering parts. G/L

Stick with it you'll get her fixed! I just got car back together after being down for almost a year. I was like a week away from doing h/c and spun a bearing. Good Luck

Let it sit lastnight full of coolant, left the spark plug out. Came in this morning to find little to no coolant in the cylinder. Anyhow, that seems to me that it is a slow weep. I picked up some K and W block seal today. I am going to try it and keep an eye on it.

better hope that stuff doesent clog the radiator or **** up other ****, a combustion chamber has alot of pressure in it and sealing it with some bullshit chemical just wont cut it

Yeah I know. I will try this and keep an eye on it. If it still leaks, I am going to pick up a set of decent afr heads and go solid roller...

You say "This engine is brand new". Is there no warranty?

the people that did my maching work, and the guy that ported the heads are two different entities.

I do not expect either to do anything about it.

There was an article in GMHTP a ways back where they got the GM sealant 'horse pills' from the dealer to prevent leaks when they did a head swap. I added two to my radiator (crushed them first) when I did my heads. Might be a good first step.

Did you use head bolts or studs? Studs sometime leak, I know mine did on my Gen I motor.

Can you run a compression check to see if its a headgasket or not?

What are the spec's on the engine.

I know how it feels to have a new build go bad. Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

Actually I had forgotten about those. I have used those before with good luck. However I used the K and W Block seal tonight on it. Hopefully that seals it up.

It is a studded top end. I can run a compression test, but I really do not think it is a head gasket. I will know something about it in the next few days, going to give the sealant 48 hours to dry up. It says to allow 24 hours, but it it is cold here and I would think cure time would be extended.

Come to find out, i was told the ports were thin and some of the material is quite porous in the bowl area...

I didnt put the heads on or the studs in. I paid to have it assembled, I would hope that there is sealant on the head studs if they need it.

Why thread sealer? None of the bolt holes on an LS1 go into the water jacket.
