What I want is a new SLP Dual/Dual for my 3rd Gen but that's out of production. I don't want a hacked up Dual/Dual that's missing the I pipe etc.
Thanks

I just put a Dynomax super turbo catback on my 02 Z28. I had the Hooker Aerochamber catback, but wanted something quieter. This new setup is definitely quieter, especially when I start it up at 5:30AM :lol

magnaflow is pretty quiet. i added a Stainless steal cutout for when I want to go loud. And Mellowyellow did a dyno comparison between cutout open and coutout closed..got same numbers.

edit*** but after re-reading your post, I am confused. It appears you're asking about an exhaust for a 3rd gen? If so, disregard the Dynomax info above as I have no idea about it's fitment on 3rd gen cars.

i've only had a flowmaster american thunder, magnaflow and current tsp rumbler.
the magnaflow was the most quiet of the three, but still louder than stock. there's gotta be something quieter than the magnaflow.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't realize Dynomax had an I pipe...so maybe I will look at a hacked SLP dual/dual. The 3rd Gen's and 4th Gen's are very similar in many ways...the 4th gen cat back will work...besides the 3rd Gen's getting an LS1. I'll also look at the Magnaflow.

The order of quietest to louder is:
Stock
Dual/Dual
Hooker
Dynomax (deeper tone)
Magnaflow
I would suggest the Hooker. Here is a clip comparing a stock exhaust on a 2002 SS to the Hooker system, no mods at all.

Dual/Dual is deff. the way to go. It's lungs open up alot when WOT too. It was a very good surprise when i got my SS.
I had Magnaflow and straight piping on my Z, didn't like either very much.
