Default Need richer exhaust, HELP

I have a fuel ratio gauge in my 2000 TA and its reading that my exhaust is very "LEAN"...im not sure if its just the gauge or not but my exhaust does smell like its burning like 48 gallons of gas a min...so, anyway, I have just recently bought the car and am wondering what i can do to make it run "Richer". Advice?
Thanks in advance..

Those gauges are just pretty little light shows.
if you can smell gas that means it is running rich. If you have a cam and no cats you're stuck withthe gas smell. a tune can help some though.

You need a wideband so you can stop guessing and start knowing whats happening.

^ Yes, get a wideband, Innovative LM1 is commonly used, but most I know are running them for nitrous purposes, but it doesn't hurt to have one for peace of mind.

Sux2BU - I have a H/C car and just checking something under my car w/ it running makes me smell like I was swimming @ a Conoco!!

The only thing you can do with basic hand tools is pull a spark plug out, and pull an O2 sensor out. If they are sooty black it's too rich. If they're white it might be too lean.

I'm assuming its a narrowband O2 gauge that connects to the stock O2's... those are completely pointless. They will never really read anything very accurately. If your car was actually reading dangerously lean all the time it would throw codes.

If you want to accurately see the AFR get a Wideband O2 with a Gauge.
