Those w/TTS LT's pleas help How do you guys get your oil filter off. I can't move an oil filter wrench around enough to get enough leverage. How about a strap wrench. Guess I'll be switching to an SureGrip next time. |
Re: Those w/TTS LT's pleas help I don't use a strap or filter wrench. Just some big channel locks. I crush the bottom of the filter a little, twist, and it comes right off. |
Re: Those w/TTS LT's pleas help Strap wrench :). |
Re: Those w/TTS LT's pleas help I'm like SSmokin 01. I use channel locks. You can get it with an oil filter wrench if you hold it at the right angle. I had to do that the first time. :) |
Re: Those w/TTS LT's pleas help LOL, I ran into the same problem when I had to change mine. I thought to myself, this can't be good. My oil wrench was able to get it off, but I had my problems. |
Re: Those w/TTS LT's pleas help If it was tightened with a wrench before you'll need a strap wrench to get it out now. You only need to hand tighten the oil filter so it shouldn't be that hard to pull off the next time you perform an oil change. |
