Adding 85mm TSP lid what do I do with the air hose that goes into my SLP lid?

I am adding a TSP 85mm air lid to my 2002 SS. I need to know what to do with the air hose that is currently connected to a fitting in my SLP lid? I have seen a few people that had an air filter attached to the hose. where can I get the filter at local in Houston Tx? Is there a way to do away with this all together? If so how?

Well I would remove the whole AIR system if you dont have to worry about emissions. If you would like to keep the system go to autozone or something and look for a little cone filter. I dont know the size just guessed and it fit pretty good. Then stuff it down by the fuse box. I did this for a while till my header install when I removed the whole system.

I already have longtube pacesetter headers so what is involved with removing it completely? I will be having heads and cam along with a fast 92/92 installed at the end of the week so the car will be tuned then also.

You can just unplug the wires on the air pump for now and have it tuned out when you get your tune. To remove it completely: you need to get air block off plates for your headers, disconnect and block of the header connections, then follow the tubes from the headers and disconnect/remove everything all the way back to the lid. The solenoid on the rear drivers side of the intake is the hardest part.

i would just drill a hole and install it back into the new air lid if it was me..

agreed...i wouldnt do that either...shit i didnt even drill a hole for my IAT sensor...i am running the one in the 85mm MAF :D

I put a little cone filter on it. The car is going in tomarrow for heads, cam , and intake along with a tune so Iwill talk to them about deleteing the air on the car and tunning it out.

The 85mm lid I got was used and some one else already drilled the hole in it other wise I would have just used teh one on the mass air. What kind of 85mm lid are you using?

The attachment shows a cone filter on mine and then I removed the system. I will post a link to a thread that has some good info in about the parts for the solenoid.

Thanks thats a pretty informative thread about the air system. I put a cone filter on it for now and when the finish installing my heads and cam and fast 92/92 they are going to remove the air all together.
