So I'm running open headers and I have a question Well I've been running open headers for the past 4 days and I do notice a drop off in low end TQ But shouldn't I gain a little HP up top? Just thought I would ask, I'm taking it to the track Saturday (if it doesn't rain) to see what it will do |
Yeah open headers is nice, I did that two weekends ago and it was LOUD. I am sure it is crazy with your cam though! I def noticed a drop off in low end tq and and increase in top end. post a sound clip man |
i'm suprised your O2's aren't shit yet. your gas mileage must be horrible. |
gas mileage is about the same 12.7MPG So far no issues with the O2s :) (knock on wood) |
From what I read you will kill your O2's in no time running open headers. |
what would cause the O2's to go out? It's not like the exhaust is coming from a different engine... |
the O2 sensors are so close to the opening of the headers, messing with them, and causing them to run rich |

Otherwise, you're just making your car louder for no good reason. ONLY taking the exhaust off will not do much. If you make a change that drastic to the car, you should tune for it. |
