Can't wait its killing me?

All right so I have an order in with Texas speed and its been two weeks because the catted y pipe. Now it's going to be another two weeks because of the manufacturer. So I'm thinking about calling and switching up my order and getting the Off road y instead. So my question is really. I know it is supposed to be just for off road purposes but can you legally get in trouble for having it? I don't have emissions so no worry about that. Also do shops have any restrictions about putting it on? Thanks guys or gals you never know.

if you dont have emissions then you have nothing to worry about get the ory :)

I know in my area, shops cant install off road y pipes they have to be catted, but we have pretty high emissions standards here. So seeing as you don't have any emissions testing i doubt it will be a problem to get installed.

Hope that helps. :chug:

I'm pretty sure its illegal to not have cats on your car...

So...if you caught, you could get fined, and or jail time. Will this happen? Most likely not...

just wait for the catted Y pipe!:chug:

get the non catted version and order 2 magnaflow 3" bullett cats. Problem solved and their cats are only like $60 each so price is even cheaper. TSP puts their driver side cat in a bad place anyway

It is illegal for a shop to remove the cats from a street driven vehicle, unless they are replacing the cat(s) with another cat(s).The shops can get like a 10k fine if caught. You can get it done though if it's a "race car". For example, get the car towed to the shop with no plates on it and say it's a pure drag car.

or install it yourself...............but yes its illegal to remove your cats.

Doesn't have to be a "race car"... All you have to do is show up without cats there, and the shop can put in a straight pipe or catless section... They just can't remove them and not put them back on..

And you're in KY man, c'mon, if you do put cats on it, chances are they're going to get sawed off, stolen, and sold anyway.. LOL.. Go off road

Also can stop by kyhorsepower.com.. Guys from all over on there as well as ky police that you can get info from. Good site

Don't waste the money for cats if you don't need them! Get the ORY and find a shop to do it. I've never had a problem just need to talk to the right person. They're not allowed to remove them but if you know the right people they will do it "under the table".

Jail time for no cats? Never heard of that before. I have had tons of friends pulled over for exhaust and the cops never look under the car. Only one was asked to go to a ref and it said it on the ticket... then for some reason he paid the ticket, didn't have to go. They just want money.

You didn't get what I was saying. :bang: Yea, he could just drive the car up to a shop with open headers....... Either way, like I said before, and you repeated as with others in this thread, it's illegal for a shop to remove cats without replacing them.
