Angry pacesetter header ordeal pt2

Got my passenger side pacesetter header tonight woo hoo!!! only to find that it was black painted instead of high temp coating errr lol. I have a phone call into eric over there at pacesetter now on making things right...since im doing a writeup about the headers im hoping they will make things right for the 2 months now ive been waiting...he said he couldnt find one in stock so hes got to get back to me...so it looks like i may be waiting a bit longer blah. Im looking for them to compensate me with the matching ypipe knowing it probably only costs them $50 to make since i was going to make my own but in the meantime this would at least get it up and running with the headers. I guess im putting their customer service to the test right about now Hopefully all will work out and I can say my experience wasnt as painfull as it looks right now.

Don't get their Y-Pipe. Pacesetter's customer service needs work. Though they were good about replacing my headers when the original ones they sent me were stolen by some ****** at UPS.

I need to get something out of this deal...i doubt ill get an cash cuz i didnt buy direct through them so i figure if i get the y at least im ahead of the game by a lil I know the y sux ive seen countless pics but for free who wouldnt take it to at least get up and running and then do my y when i get around to it hehe the parts alone for the one id like to make is going to be over the 125 or whatever they charge for their crappy y so i might as well get some good out of the deal...im already a little pissed about a 2+ month wait to get the correct headers.

The design of it is pretty bad but for the price it really cant be beat thats what hes saying...the way they merge the 3" tubing is bad...the fact that they crush the tubing is bad and the fit isnt great. They are an exhaust company though so for me this would be about the best they could do for compensation for me so im takin a shot.

I too got a miswelded header.. After calling the guy, and him telling me to fax in a receipt.. I then called twice more, with him being "busy". Both times I asked for him to call me back.. I'm going to try calling a few more times next week.. However, I'm about to give up and just block off the EGR, and try to pay off somebody for emissions. I waited a month to get them in, and I'm not going to wait another month to get a non-coated header like foff did just too not have a vehicle.. I guess I got what I paid for, next time I'll learn from this and buy some Jet Hots.

Cheers,

yah i was pretty much in that boat had to send my receipt all that crap just to get the uncoated...for the extra 80 bucks or so who wouldnt get the coated though? My car isnt down because of this though thankfully just a big hassle to get the correct one...thats why i havent thought about just blocking off the stuff on the other tube...im just gonna get my car inspected a little early, get my 2yr sticker and worry about emissions in 2 years

is it worth the extra money for hookers? i dont mean to try and change the subject but im sure this would be a true test to ask how good the headers are lol. how are the headers themselves minus the problems with the order? get these over hookers? its an every day car too... is there any way to order them wihtout the egr and air tubes?

The headers themselves are beautiful and should make great power. That being said, you will probably wish you had bought the Jet Hots if you have the luck me and foff have I believe I read that pretty soon the price of the Pacesetters will be up to $390+ as well. Might want to consider paying the extra $100 for Jet Hots if you want good customer service. Hell, if it was me and I saw foff had problems, and others had problems.. I'd do it just so maybe their customer service department would get the clue after loosing sales.

i recommend stepping up to hookers or jet hots if u can but believe me if you can only really spend pacesetter prices on headers....they work just as well as anything else....my car jumped down from a 12.90 to a 12.30 with just pacesetters and their ORYP....plus i was surprised how well made they look (assuming of course yours aren't welded wrong)

the decisioin is up to u but id just like to put a good word in...im a staisfied customer...

the headers look great...at least the 2 coated ones i have...the uncoated one that i receieved already had surface rust inside the collector...the design is similar to the hookers but definitly different although the ypipes look to be identical which isnt necessarily a good thing i got my pacesetters at a near unbeatable price of $303 bucks with no shipping costs brand new so if i get the right one at some point it would still be worth the wait for me...and if i somehow get a free y out of it I would nearly be in heaven knowing i dont have to do the exhaust work as well as installing the headers in a weekend...i can just bolt and go yippee.

from summit racing, but...and its a big but i believe i was the first to even try to order them from summit and therefore somehow got a sweet deal...they sell for a bit more now but they do sell them as a special order i believe...i just figured if i saved 10 bucks shipping id be set when they told me the price i was like ok that works
