FLP's 2.5" Offroad Pipes Is there a disadvantage to going from the 3" collector on the FLP headers to the 2.5" offroad pipes, then back to the 3" y-pipe and the 3" I-pipe? I was thinking that the single 3" I-pipe would create more resistance than (2) 2.5" offroad pipes so it really doesn't matter. I am just wondering why their offroad pipes aren't 3"? Will this be a performance disadvantage vs. a true 3" offroad y-pipe? The biggest mod I will probably do internal-wise is a cam FWIW. Would there be a sound difference also? Thanks.. -Andy |
Two 2.5" pipes flow better than a single 3" pipe. Comparing a 3" Y to a 2.5" Y the 3" flows more obviously. I don't think it would hurt performance-wise. Maybe they chose 2.5" pipes for extra ground clearance? |
No, it doesn't appear to help ground clearance... |
