Default replacement for LM1!! very loud need input

ok guys i got a 2002 ws6 with LTs, ory, and a LM1. and on top of that a V2 cam. my neighbors hate me for it and iv had the cops called on me several times already. i was gonna change it either way, but damn not this soon. o well but any way i wanna keep the system but just swap the muffler out. i got magnaflow, dynomax, LM2, or borla xr-1 to think about, what have u guys been unnin and what would u guys recommend?

thx,
Tom

The dynomax bullet 4" body muffler helps, but still loud as ****... not sure of other's, I thought about doing 2 bullets after the over axle, but not sure if that's feasable to do without it being real ugly if you don't have a rear cme valance like mine has.

I'd swing towards a magnaflow round or a 4x9. The casing for both is 20" total, and should tuck up nicely as long as you don't hack chop the job.

yeah something with a bigger case for sure, maybe an areochamber muffler or a dynomax super turbo.

I got a pretty healthy cam, long tubes, and an ORY. Ran an open Borla for years (very loud). This is not a daily driver, just a toy. I hated starting it early in the morning so ended up never driving it to work. I recently just closed up the Borla and this is pretty quiet set up. I added a DMH electric cutout and love it. Quiet now till I leave the neighbor hood and yet even louder then the open Borla when it's open. So in short I recomend the E cutout.

I would go with the slp powerflo conversion for you. Replace the center muffler with the lm2, and it adds bullet mufflers before each tip. It's the deepest, no raspy exhaust setup I've ever had, and I've had a total of 3 different headers (macs, edelbrocks, QTPs), 4 different catbacks (slp LM1, WS6, magnaflow, and the Powerflo) and it's the best by far.

It's a little bit louder than the previous magnaflow, but it's a good loud. Very very deep. Like comparing the factory monsoon subs to a true JL W7 sub.

^^^^Yup the poweflo would be good for you. You can keep what you got and just add the rest and it quiets it down quite a bit.

/isn't the powerflo just a bolt on deal too? I might have to consider that.

Yea i would go with powerflos, they are easy to put on and yank off if you want it to be loud for just one weekend or something. Plus they have a very good tone to them.

Another vote for SLP powerflow. It should be easy to convert since you have the LM1. If you choose this route make sure to buy the conversion and not the entire catback.

I've had the LM2 and XR1 on mine and the best yet is the PowerFlo that I have been running.

i vote for the magnaflow or like i have, the MAGNAMOUTH. i just finished installing the mac mids, ory, and magnaflow 5" round muffler (replaces resonator) slp loudmouth catback. the car sounds sick. its very deep at startup, idle and cruising. When accelerating lightly to moderately and its between 2000 and 2500 rpm it sounds a lot like a mustang 5.0 with an H-pipe and flowmasters but then after that it goes back to being very deep and smooth. Its wierd its almost like a dual personality exhaust but it sounds awesome.
