y pipe for LT's...?

i have the slp replacement y pipe and now that im getting pacesetter LT's i might need to get a new one. the guy at the performance shop i go to said he will make it fit the longtubes and im fine with that.
if i do buy a new y whats better:
pacesetter ypipe that goes with the LT's
or
tsp ypipe that will fit fine with pacesetter LT's

thanks

Get a custom y-pipe made with the Flowmaster merge collector.

We recently redesigned our catted and off-road Y's to fit better than the previous parts. We designed our Y's to have more adjustability to maximize ground clearance as well as body clearance. We also built them with a better flowing merge on the new parts as well.

Here's a quick image of our new Catted-Y

Can you post pictures of the inside? :) I'd like to see how the merge comes together..

I'll try to get and a pic of the inside for ya!

Id do with the TSP Y. I've had the old style and the new one and the new one definatley flows better. Only thing is you have to modify it if you have a tunnel mount T/A, but not too much. Just had to shorten it some. Fits really good also. Tucks up better than the old style for sure.

that looks very nice. i live in kansas so im not gunna be running my cats. my cats have already been talking off so i would like to continue that.

Are you kidding!?!? I love my cats, why would you ever take em off?? KIDDING And I like the new ideas bill, you loved the sound of mine a little too much! now for that cut out! see you at the track tomorrow foo.

BIG BILL 2000 Z Jul 29, 2009 12:26 AM

im pumped for the track son. i did like the sound of your ride with the cutout open but not for daily driving! only when im racing you or driving in and out of car shows will that thing be open!

No that was given me a headache! but the magnaflow sounds clean as... you know, its good.
But does the TSP have problems hitting the drivers side floor board? Doesnt look like much clearance from the y to the body?

BIG BILL 2000 Z Jul 29, 2009 12:46 AM

i have no idea if it has any clearance issues. my SLP ypipe hangs down kinda low but it hasnt been a problem. i think the TSP might flow a lil better than the pacesetter y.

blue98Z Jul 29, 2009 01:16 AM

The TSP doesn't hit the floor. If you have old worn out motor mounts then it might. I have prothane mounts and havent had a problem. The old one did, but when I put in the new mounts it stopped. But I swapped the old one for true duals then late went back to the TSP ORY and discovered they had revised the merge. Its a whole lot better IMO.

What is the size of the output of the merge before it necks down? I assume it's 3" after. I was wondering if its possible to cut off the transition in order to build a 3.5" exhaust from the merge back without necking down to 3". From the pic it looks plausible.

Thanks.
