Rattling coming from the O2's What the hell?? Im working on a 2001 Trans Am WS6. And When I get under the car and bump the exhaust a rattling noise comes from the O2 sensors. I hold the wires and it still rattles. And its NOT the little metal caps, and the O2's are nice and tight. Is there something loose inside maybe.? This is crazy, what do I do.. Please help guys. |
Are you sure the rattle is from the O2's and not the catalytic converters? I had a terrible rattle in the exhaust of my 99 Sonoma last year and it ended up being my cat. The paladium (I think thats what its called) inside was busted up in chunks and making a terrible noise. I replaced my cat and no more rattle. Just a thought. Good luck. |
Well, Ive ruled out the cats because I dont have any. But yeah, Ive dealt with that before on another car. Thanks though. |

I had rattling O2's, it was annoying and it wouldn't do it all the time. Took me forever to track it down. |

My Hooker catback was rusted to hell inside and large chunks of steel were caught in the catback. I could hear the metal vibrate when the car was running, or if I shook the catback it would rattle as well. |
