Default 6.0l 408 belt size?

After very short time, with a short attention span my searches yield me with nothing, so hopefully I can get a quick answer here:

I need to know what size the belt is on a 408, apparently the stock ls1 belt is just a tad smaller. The belt keeps wanting to ride itself off. I tried to look it up but I'm impatient and I'm working suspension before it gets too dark. I can always pick up the belt first thing tomorrow morning.

The belt walking off has nothing to do with size. You have an alignment issue. One of your pullies are not in line.

i looked it up alittle bit and apparently its a common issue, about 6k+ rpms the belt with walk itself off because the tensioner is too weak

I see. Sounds like a tensioner is what you need then. Something I had never heard of.
Or are you saying with a shorter belt it allows the tensioner to apply more pressure?

its a stock size belt. i thought at first it needed a bigger belt, but then it turned out my tensioner is just worn out. so i just ordered a katech tensioner, hopefully that will put an end to my problem.

Stock length belt is 79". I put a 10% Fluidampr underdrive pulley on my 408 and went with a 78" belt and have no problems.
