ummm it won't fit I bought a 85 maf. ANd i ordered the new SLP lid. But for some reason the maf is to big doesn't wanna go in . Never had this problem. DOes anyone know how to make it fit or do i need a reduction coupler. IF so where can i get one? Thanks- MIke Sorry for the newb question |
You will need a silicone coupler. Ebay has tons of them. |
Why the upgrade? Did you just want 85mm over 78mm? |
You probably won't see any gains because the opening in your lid is now your "choke point" in your intake. |

I haven't seen any gains worth mentioning from a bigger MAF until you're north of 450+ rwhp. They don't do diddly shit until the MAF tables are scaled/smoothed/tuned by a competent tuner that actually works the MAF tables. On a side note, SLP MAF's are total garbage and the designer should be repeatedly kicked in the nuts by every hardcore tuner on the planet. |

not true... the id of the lid is still bigger than 85mm and has no divider blade in the middle like a maf... |

I agree but you will need a coupler to connect it to your current lid or upgrade one of the bigger FTP/UTP lids I am running a delphi 85mm MAF with a regular MTI clear lid and the ID of the lid and the ID my 85mm MAF are almost the same size which is why I didn't upgrade to a bigger lid. |
