I bought a 85 maf. ANd i ordered the new SLP lid. But for some reason the maf is to big doesn't wanna go in . Never had this problem. DOes anyone know how to make it fit or do i need a reduction coupler. IF so where can i get one? Thanks- MIke

You will need a silicone coupler. Ebay has tons of them.

Why the upgrade? Did you just want 85mm over 78mm?

You probably won't see any gains because the opening in your lid is now your "choke point" in your intake.

not true... the id of the lid is still bigger than 85mm and has no divider blade in the middle like a maf...

I haven't seen any gains worth mentioning from a bigger MAF until you're north of 450+ rwhp. They don't do diddly shit until the MAF tables are scaled/smoothed/tuned by a competent tuner that actually works the MAF tables.

On a side note, SLP MAF's are total garbage and the designer should be repeatedly kicked in the nuts by every hardcore tuner on the planet.

I agree but you will need a coupler to connect it to your current lid or upgrade to one of the bigger FTP/UTP lids I am running a delphi 85mm MAF with a regular MTI clear lid and the ID of the lid and the ID my 85mm MAF are almost the same size which is why I didn't upgrade to a bigger lid.

yup just need a rubber connector for a couple bucks
