Default Duels exhaust with stock manifolds?

When I went to get my headers and duel exhaust put on, the guy at the exhaust shop was telling me that he does duel exhaust from the cats back on cars with the stock exhaust system. Would it even be worth it to get duels without getting headers? Do any of you think it would give better gains than just getting a regular cat-back system.

thanks.

Don't totally understand what your question is.
But, in order of priority (In My Opinon). 1. Headers 2. Duals.

If you need to keep stock manifolds for emissions or for whatever reason, then duals on a stock exhaust wouldn't be bad. It would still be better than most catbacks.

As lond as you want the duals sound, duals will probably be better than most catbacks. It'll probably run you no more than a decent catback, possibly less. Duals sound so sweet, I'd do it over a catback just for the sound, even if it's with the stock manifolds.

duals on stock manfolds is just like an slp Y pipe. fine if you plan on never going to mids or LT's.

I heard a car at the track once that had true duals with an x pipe and it sounded very nice.

I have x pipe duals on my stock manifolds. Did it mostly for sound and is alot cheaper than all catbacks and would out flow them too. May not make to much more power but can't beat the sound.

Ditch the stock manifolds, get headers.

I agree, if you can't afford it now, wait till you get headers and then get duals.

That's how I did mine...I just had them start the duals where the LT's would end, so there wouldn't be too much more work involved when I put headers on..The sound was well worth the $$ spent.
