The fast 102 is expensive, like $850. SO thats why im wondering if the slp brand or gm brand is just as good? I want the intake that will bolt right on easily and gain me the most hp....

The GM and slp brand ls6 intake manifold is the same thing. An ls6 manifold is that, an ls6 intake manifold. When you talk about Fast intake manifolds, those are aftermarket intakes, which may be better pending on what has been done to the car or whats going to be on the car. Buy a used Ls6 intake manifold for 300 bucks here on the boards, install it yourself, save money. For a beginner maybe 3-4 hours.

best bang for the buck is the LS6 used and both are the same. If you want to spend the money, the FAST is the best and will see the most power gain out of the aftermarket intakes. A 92 would be fine for you depending on the mods.

Just get any LS6 intake with the following part numbers:
12561182
12573572

If someone tries to sell you one for cheap just make sure it isn't this one: 12556333

the FAST 102 will be fine for your car if you plan to do heads and cam in the future. if you plan to leave it STOCK, get the 90 or 92. no need for the bigger TB if your engine doesnt need it.

Yeah that sounds good! So my question now is if i get a bigger aftermarket intake do i need to change the throttle body so it allows more airflow to the engine? if i do need to change the throttle body which is the one i should get? do you match it to the intake? I really apreciate all the help and knowledge im achieving from here! I really rreally want to get this mod done soon!

the 102 TB can be tuned to work with a stock cube engine, rather the engine can be tuned to work with the 102 TB. if you dont plan to do heads cam more cubes etc...you can put a 92mm TB on the 102intake and it will be perfect, but if i were doing it, which i am here shortly, is buying a 102 and 102 TB for the 370 and tune around it, then when i go to the 408 with spray, ill have the 102 it needs.

so basicly a fast 102 wit h102 tb is the best setup... so say i got a fast 92.. would i match it witha 92 throttle body?? does the throttle body have the match the size of the intake.. liek if i havean 85 mm intake do i need 85 mm tb? or if i got 92mm intake do i need 92mm tb? and so on? Orrrrr should i even bother changing the tb if i change my intake??? is there anything else i need to know about changing to the ls6???

No you can use a smaller throttle body than what the intake calls for. A fast 102 and a 92mm tb for your setup would be ok. The 102 tb is really only intended if your doing a stroker motor such as a 408 or something. Even a 92mm intake and tb would be more than adequate but fast only makes the 102 now if you could find a deal on a 92mm intake setup for a deal id jump on it.

the only difference between the 78/90/92 and 102 is the size of the TB opening, and some very minor other design changes, that from what ive heard, dont effect performance. thats why FAST discontinued the 78/90/92...because the 102 is just fine for a stock cube engine.

factory is 75mm, the best thing you can do is port your stock TB or buy one already ported.

also search "free mods" and you will find little things you can do to help out.

the FAST is by far one of the best intakes and throttle bodies you can buy for the money. its useable on a huge array of engine combinations as far as stock cubes, to mild heads and cam to wild strokers. no doubt in my mind, this is the combo im going with.

If you go the fast intake route, or a standard gm LS6 (not slp) also factor in deleting at least your egr, if not your air too.

as for which intake, how far do you plan on taking your build? Do you just want to add some power, hit the 500 mark, or are you looking for more? If so get a combination that meets your needs or slightly surpasses them, it'll be cheaper than buying something that is too great for your set-up and not utilizing it to its potential.

And yes you can play around with the throttle body size, just remember that going to0 large or too small will create choke points for incoming for incoming air without porting one or both pieces.

As well you'll have to look into a larger lid/maf/tubing or going the speed density route with larger piping, all of which will increase the cost of your build over time.

I'm still learning a lot of this stuff myself, but searching the forum will give you your answers.

Oh and its "stock" not "stalk"....
