ls1 400whp with bolt on's ? just wondering if any body achieved it or do u have to get into the engine for these kind of numbers on just bolt on parts? |
not gonna happen |
you can do that cam only.. try an ls2, or ls3 for those kind of bolt on numbers! |
wat the max hp u can get with just bolt on's just curious |
i'd say 360-370 would prolly be about peak numbers and thats FULL bolt ons.. most will make 350-360 to the wheels of course, if you want crank hp.. then you'll be able to do that with boltons |

thats not bad at all |
well you can see the numbers i put down, and mods in my sig.. my buddy has an a4 ws6 with the same mods, in addition to an ls6 intake and UD pully and he put down 350/358, so i'd say its about right.. |
Well I got 353 RWHP pretty much full bolt-ons. I had these left that could have gotten even a few more: - FAST 92/92 - Electric Water Pump - Chris or one of the other Ram-Air kits That was through and A4 so about max would be somewhere around 370. |
nitrous is a bolt-on! |
i have a ls6 and im anxious to get some dyno numbers with full bolt ons |

that seems kind of generous and most likely an m6 car made 364 rwhp @ 5500rpm on an M6 car...with TR-55 plugs Pacesetter 1 3/4 headers, stock LS6 manifold, stock TB, SLP lid and stock MAF descreened.. I had my Moser 12 bolt at the time!! Also I had no cats and Dynamax bullet, H pipe dumped at the time...I also had a LS7 clutch with aluminum FW.. If I still had my 10 bolt Id be making probably 370-ish rwhp... and I could have still went with a EWP, I could have removed my AC belt, I could have removed power steering and I could have still went with a FAST manifold, and a bigger MAF at the time and made more power. |

If you went extreme in trying to achieve this, I think you could get close. Every single possible bolt-on, short belt, all that good stuff. |
well thats what ima try to do before the cam and heads hopefully i get close i doubt it tho |
In order to get close to that mark, I think some 1.8 rockers would be absolutely necessary. |
400 horse bolt-ons It's not happening. with full boltons still no way. no head change or cam change.. no way. I dynoed at 320 with long tubes with cats, dyno tune, slp cat back, vararam corvette cai, msg wires, larger than stock air bridge with ported throttle body, drilled and slotted rotors, 3.42 rear.. all synthetics.. zero weight motor oil, a4 automatic trans, rev extreme catch can, iridium plugs, etc.. I was told if I got a larger mass air and 78 mm throttle body with an ls6 intake I might pick up 15 to 20 horse. tuner said he felt my car was choking at high rpm. vararam offers no help on dyno. kind of disappointing but a fellow their with a 00 camaro dynoes at 318 hp and he had timeslips of 12.20 110 with his setup. says auto cars dont dyno well because of lack of lock up converter. fyi.. Their was a guy their with a 03 z06 with long tube headers and cai and dyno tune did 373 rwhp. fyi. |

You could argue either way honestly. I'm sure someone could say heads are a bolt-on too, it just depends on who you're talking to. |
