Anyone using BBC valve covers as coil covers?
Seen a few use the SBC covers, but it looked like a tight squeeze with alot of work. Anyone see how a BBC valve cover fits over the LS coils? With the price of the goofy plastic and metal covers out there it seems like this would be an easy work around? The edelbrock coil covers I had looked roughly BBC sized.
Something like this for $34

Or this with no breather holes in aluminum for $60

I bought actual fabbed coil covers and ran them for alittle... they were like #130 and it came with the billet filer extension and all the spacers/bolts needed for the install. I would just go that route honestly.

Which did you use? Have a link? I haven’t seen any for that price that were worth a damn. I liked the edelbrock covers but I don’t want to have to buy all new coils. They won’t work with the square truck coils I have. They also weighed a ton. Seems like a $35-60 option in steel or alum would be an easy fix. Just wans’t sure if I should try and run the SBC or BBC size wise. Also wasn’t sure if a “tall” or “Short” valve cover would work best.
Here’s an example. It looks good IMO.

They fit decent. I had to trim mine alittle at the front driver corner to clear my large case alt with truck accessories. Then I removed them a few months later after I swapped from my D581 coils to the hotter D585 coils and they didn't fit as well due to coil wire being lower toward the bottom of the valve cover.
I don't like polished aluminum or chrome so I wrapped them in 4D carbon fiber vinyl and had custom decals printed that I designed to bring it all together. I also lined the coil wire cutouts with wiper tubing that I cut the length and had them slip over the edge to protect the wires as they pushed down on them alittle. See attached pic

Thanks, ended up going this route.
Think I found the same ones for $106. Had to cut the pass side up to clear my alt mount but I like the look. Almost look like they started out as a BBC valve cover.

Looks good!
Did u out the IAT sensor in the intake right above the blocked off EGR port? Do you have any closer pics or details? I just picked up the same NNBS intake and looking for a spot of the IAT sensor as the NNBS intake has a plug in the air purge port.

Gotcha. Thanks. Basically drill to .500 and sand the sensor down and hammer it in. I wish I could break off and drill the top air purge port vs doing that just like in the older intakes. Bc I will have to plug that anyways.
