New O2's or extend the old ones I am doing a header install this week and then I have a Predator to tune out the rear O2's Air EGR and get the AFR in the right range. I am not sure but the Camaro might have the stock O2 sensors do you think I should just go get the longer Corevette O2's or should I be ok with the stock ones. If they are stock they have 72k on them. What lead me to believe that they are is the fact that the blue safety tabs were all in tact and inserted to hold the O2 sensors in. |
well man i'll tell you what when i did my headers i just extended them nd then wrapped them all the way up and down with electrical tape, and once i got to the shop that was finishing my exhaust they told me they were gonna have to buy vette ones cuz the o2's i guess run on mV so when u put all those connectors and stuff you end up losing too much current or something so in short i'd say dont waste ur time extending them just buy new ones  |
Thats all I needed to hear I mean I was gonna replace them eventually if not right after the install but if they had a current draw loss I dont need to fight that when trying to tune her up. |
I would put the new ones in until you run the car a few times and let the shit/paint burn off the headers. It fucked my o2's up so im glad I didnt put new ones on at the same time b/c that wouldve been $120 down the shitter. |
You can buy O2 sensor extensions, cheaper than new sensors. You cant just splice in longer wires. |
vette rears for sure . they are very important i wouldnt skimp |
1 year warranty if they shit out and I will just lie to them and tell them they were throwing codes in 9 months and get a new set. |
