Default Ground wire on wiring harness question

On the drivers side theres a copper braided wire thats taped to the wiring harness but doesnt touch the other wires its taped on the outside of the wires that go to the o2 sensor and the alternator. Does any one know the signifigance of this and where i should ground both of the ends? If this isnt a good enough explination ill try and find a picture.

Engine to chassis ground

Its a redundant ground to maximize contact between the battery, chassis and engine block for the least possible resistance back to the battery post

I would suggest reattaching it. The spot you ground it from/to is irrelevant, just be sure the areas are clean

that ground wire starts on the frame horn below the fuse boxes in front of the ALT and ends at the block behind the ALT in front of the motor mount

My car has one of them going to the brake line heatshield and the other to the frame under the fuse block.
