Cutout size: same for stock as Magnaflow?

Cutout size: same for stock as Magnaflow? Simple question, I hope:
I want to pick up a cutout for my stock exhaust, which I understand I'll need a 3" cutout ( ID or OD?)
If I put a cutout on my stock exhaust, and later went with a MF catback, would the same cutout fit the MF?

Magnaflow has a 3" I-pipe. The Stock I-pipe is 2.75".
Your best bet is to wait until you get the magnaflow exhaust
& then install the cutout.
That is assuming you don't have the optional dual dual exhaust.

I'm thinking about buying the QTP Oval cutout and you don't get to select a size (2.75 or 3) but it just says that it "Fits 21/2"-3" round exhuast pipe." If I have a stock I-pipe now, but plan on getting a catback later (say 3" i-pipe), wouldn't I be able to use the same cutout?
